FL to NC to FL again

Our beautiful, strong, amazingly smart and kind oldest son returned safely from Kuwait.  He was in staging/quarantine for fourteen days before we were able to see him.  We took off a few days, loaded up his truck and ours, and set our map to Fayetteville NC (Fort Bragg).

I feel so blessed and happy to have him back stateside.....and so does Olivia as you can see.

Christmas at Granny Johnson's

These photos pretty much sum up all these cousins.  Fun, wild, crazy, loving, caring and just straight up adorable.  We had such a fun Christmas Day with Granny Johnson this year, we are so blessed to have such an amazing family on all sides.  And we were lucky enough to have Gavin home for the season!

G, W, X & Miss O

Our mini vacation with Gavin is coming to an end, he'll be leaving for North Carolina Saturday morning - so this is our last week with him.  Sucks that I have to work, but things are so crazy at the office right now and I already have vacation scheduled for the first two weeks of July!  So we'll have to plan to go see him in his new town......I am sure I'll love North Carolina.  :)

The other day, Gavin decided last minute to go visit a friend who was traveling through town (a guy he met in Alaska).  He hadn't been gone more then two minutes when Olivia piped up and said "I miss Gavin".  I laughed a bit and reminded her he had just left - and how he'd be back soon and she reminded me again how much she missed him still.  I asked her what she was going to do when he left on Saturday for North Carolina and she simply said (and she meant it) "FREAK OUT!"....I tried hard not to laugh-but how sweet is that child?  We will all miss him.

On Monday I took the kids to lunch and run a few errands.  They graced me with a few smiles-and here is our outcome :)

Gavin's Home (for a visit)

Well, we have Gavin home for a few weeks before she heads to NC to his new duty station at Fort Bragg.  We are enjoying his visit so far, though he keeps rather busy!  The boys sure were happy to see him (as you can see).

We had a small get together Saturday with some family & friends-it was rather amazing.  Everyone had a great time and we sure were happy to see the folks that came over.

Final Thoughts

Gosh

I feel like I have been MIA for a while now, and I guess to be honest I have been.  Just a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to shoot my last & final wedding for 2014 (on 12/13/14 actually) and I have been a. busy culling and editing those images b. shooting other sessions after the holidays c. the holidays and d. just life in general.

I don't know I do it, well I guess if I thought about the fact that my legs need to be shaved, I could figure out what gets neglected in order for me to complete the above for mentioned.  Gracious.

I had a fantastic holiday & I'd love to write a blog post about it when I have time, but for the time being-let me just post a photo of one of our outings.

Enjoy!

Peace love & happiness!

Note from Georgia

After being gone for two weeks we finally heard from Gavin.  He called me at work yesterday first, the conversation was only two seconds long-just long enough for him to tell me he was good & he loved me.  Made me tear up, it wasn't just me that teared up but it made our entire front office tear up when I was telling them about the call.  All moms, so they all understand.

Got home from work yesterday & we had a note in the mail box from him too.  NO return address on the envelope OR on the letter-but it was great to hear from him.  I miss him so much & hope he's doing better now since these was obviously written a week ago.  I know from what everyone says, the first week is the worst.

Pray for his safety, comfort and strength.
