District Champs - Off to State

What a hot ass weekend, sitting out melting in the Florida heat was worth it to see my son and his team will districts in their 2019 All-Stars Tournament.  Off to state we go in Live Oak in just a few weeks.  This is our last year playing rec ball-so this is just amazing & what a great year we've had.

2019 All Stars

One thing I am not, is a sports photographer.  I have always struggled taking photos of young children in a group that is this large-because they don't all just do what they are supposed to at the same time.  They all blink or get distracted if you are taking to long.  I literally took about 20 photos and this is the best one I could get of the 2019 Seniors All-Stars!  They have their first game on Friday, so despite not all of them paying attention-I'd like with wish them luck.

ps.  as you can see, my child is paying attention and was in all the other photos too!  Good boy X.

Baseball & Easter Eggs

Last night was our last game in the SMAC ornament.  FWMS went to the championship game, against a team that had beaten us all  year long, LBMS!  Guess what, they beat us again!  The kids were so disappointed, mainly Xander since he was the starting pitcher.  He said "they started hitting off me and I couldn't get any help in the in or out field!".  It was true, the kids were all just having a bad day & it just went down hill with the first error.  I love my son, but X can be a bit of a bear when he feels the slightest injustice against him & being pulled out of the game really got in his craw.

This weekend we have a lot of things planned, today for example Billy is getting up early to put new brakes on the truck, and have the property mowed.  Tomorrow we're having some company over (lots of kids) for a big family dinner in celebration of Easter.  Sunday we're heading out to the hunting camp to celebrate Easter with Billy's family!  Monday, I am working on taxes and spending the day with my sweet boys!  Olivia is pretty excited about dying eggs & having the Easter Bunny visit the house, she won't stop talking about it.  She also doesn't understand why the basket she brought home from school today had to be cleaned of easter grass before it could enter the house-lol!  I hate easter grass....with a passion!

In other news, I think my sweet baby bro is finally happy again!  He's coming over on Saturday with his new girlfriend (her kids) and of course Shawn & Layla.  He texted and said he was "excited" about the visit, and I have not heard him talk that way in over a year.  It really warmed my heart.  I think it has a lot to do with this new lady in his life, and the fact that he's finally away from the Polk Correctional System ;) either way, I am super happy for this great guy!

We have a Hobby Lobby in LC now, and I've been & it's amazing.  It's nice to have something I enjoy doing (shopping at Hobby Lobby) so close to home, and not in a busy part of town like the one in Gainesville is in.  Olivia and I went there on Monday this week and toured around.  She found lots of stuff she wanted of course, and so did I.  I kept texting B showing him what new things we'd soon be looking at in our home, lol!

Happy Easter Loves!

W & Baseball

This week has been try outs for middle school baseball for our boys.  X&W both tried out this year, last year only X tried out (and made the team).  I have been anxiously waiting to hear from W to see if he made the team this year, because they find out today.  He text me a few moments ago to tell me that 12 out of 22 kids were picked for the team this year, most if not all was from last year, and he was not one of them.

I am not the kind of parent that thinks every child deserves a trophy for everything they do in life, but I do think that children should be picked for teams based on ability & they should also not be told that they'll make the team - and then not be picked - lied to.  He's so disappointed, and doesn't even want to play baseball anymore.  I don't even know how to talk to him about it, and I don't know how to navigate my feelings towards both boys dealing with the same try outs with totally different results.

My heart aches for Weston....because I know how much he wanted it & how confident he was that he was going to make the team.  He's at school all day today, and some of his friends are jerks and they'll tease him and try to get a rise out of him - but he's a sensitive child and I know it will not go over well with him, right now while he is wounded.  I wish I could take away the pain for him, and I know these are the hard lessons in life.....but what can I do-what can I say!?

Holidays Are Near

The holidays are riding upon us.  I have decided to start my Christmas shopping just a little early this year, I actually started in October!  A lot of the stuff is small & the kids didn't even ask for it, but I found it-thought it was cute & decided to just order it.  The boys are already showing signs of excitement, it's rather adorable.  I can't wait to spend this valuable time with them, this year Christmas week falls on my weeks with O&W....fantastic, that mean's I'll be home with them all week & get all that great time with all of them.  The plans for X are still up in the air.  I would have hoped we would have planned something with his mom by now, but we have not heard & B told me to not mention it, that it wasn't my responsibility to make sure they saw each other that it was hers-and I hear him, but I still care for X and I care about his needs and desires-whatever they may be, and maybe I am reaching.
Last night, at the baseball game-I walk up as the boys are all out in the outfield warming up.  X is the closest to the fence that I am walking past to head towards the bleachers to take my seat.  He sees me and says "MOM".....and it warmed my heart.  I really am a lucky "mom" to be given the opportunity to raise two amazing bonus children.  God knew what he was doing when he gave me these two crazy people.

So those are all good things, I bet you're wondering what I have to rant & rave about?  Well, one thing I've noticed about social media is that there are so many people out there shaming others into donating to various Go Fund Me pages, they post the link on their page over and over again - begging or asking people to donate to this "good cause" and trust me, they all sound like good causes & I would never begrudge someone help if they really needed it - but the people asking, and making a fuss-if you look at the donors...they have not even donated.  Maybe they feel they are doing their part by "putting it out there so more can see & more can give..." and that is their contribution, but the feeling of self gratification is what bugs me.  Ah well.  If that's my only complain this week I guess it's not so bad...but it's not, hahaha.  Best Buy, I could write a book about how pissed I am at them right now!

Hope your weekend was better....

This past weekend was a long one, I was off on Friday due to homecoming.  I had lots of things planned.  Lots on the agenda.  Wanted to get the boys hair cut, and get them new baseball pants & belts for their games on Saturday, wanted to go to their first game of the fall ball season, wanted to get to the grocery store & pick up yummy vittles that I could cook for the family all weekend since we were all together.

Well, I didn't get much of that accomplished, but Billy sure picked up my "SLACK".  Poor Olivia spent about 10 hours just puking her guts out due to either a bug or food poisoning.  This little event happened Friday late afternoon until about 5am Saturday morning.  She was up puking all night long, every 10 mins, then every 20, then every 45 before she finally passed out.....we passed out.  We stayed home Saturday, just in case she wasn't done and let the guys all do the baseball thing....but she seemed to get over it just as quickly as she had it come on.  Poor thing!

The boys do look handsome with their new haircuts..even though I didn't get to enjoy the time spent with them getting this done - or buying new baseball stuff!

Over all, after the sickness cleared & I was able to get some sleep we had a good weekend.  Monday the boys didn't have school & so Weston and I spent some time together alone-went to his dentist appointment & had some lunch.  Did some light shopping as well before heading home to feed Xander & let the boys play until baseball practice.

I hope everyone elses weekend was just a bit better then ours :)

Sweet Summer Sun

I just love the sunshine, especially in the summer evenings.  Now, please don't get me wrong-I am not a huge fan of the smoldering heat & damp humidity.  But the sun!  It's gorgeous in photos.

It's to HOT!

Last night was Weston's first All-Stars practice for 2016.  And since Billy is still dealing with his new BFF, Mr. Stone, I was the one that had to take the boy to practice.  I took Olivia and Xander with me (since they wanted to go & I don't skip out on to many opportunities when someone wants to go some place with me hehe)....after Olivia played at the park for a bit we sat in the bleachers and watched practice.  This sweaty child didn't care much about personal space, and the fact that she's a hot mess & I am a hot mess..she wanted to lay her sweaty hot little body on me....what can you say?  Nothing, and just try to enjoy it while it lasts...lol!

Boys & Baseball

So I have recently tried to get some snaps of the boys, in their baseball uniforms.  You'd think it would be much easier then taking pictures of O, since she's two-but no, it's hard-really hard.  They are even more uncooperative then she is.  Maybe it is because they are distracted by their friends, maybe they just don't give a rats ass about their mom and her want/need to take their picture-whatever the problem is, I was only able to take one really good picture of ONE of the kids.  Let's hope I can make this happen again soon-but this time with much more success.  Maybe I should resort into bribing them like I do O. LOL!
